Introduction

Join us, while Sascha and I escape the freezing European winter to explore Vietnam. It’s shape and size is the reason for its different climate zones. Giving us tropical summer heat in the south and cold to mild temperatures in the northern regions during December.

Vietnam, like many other countries, was highly influenced by all the wars they were involved in – ten in the 20th century alone. The red colour in their flag supposedly resembles all the blood that has been shed during the wars.

Additionally, leading to culinary influences like the french baguette or the name change of Saigon to Ho Chi Minh, once North Vietnam defeated South Vietnam and the Americans.

My main interest however, lies in its diversity. From stunning landscapes, the world’s largest cave (Hang Son Doong) to skyscrapers, busy cities and delicious street food.
